Charging Network Expansion
Thanks to agreements with EVgo and Electrify America, Honda drivers will have expanded access to two of North America’s largest charging networks. This is in addition to the high-powered charging network that Honda recently announced they are creating alongside six other prominent automakers. The multiple ventures ensure Honda drivers they will not lack charging options in the years and decades to come.
The Smartphone Connection
As part of the new arrangement with EVgo and Electrify America, Honda owners will have access to a smartphone app capable of locating available fast charging stations across the continent. The app will also give owners the option to pay for charging, enroll in subscription plans and more, all without having to leave the car.
The Shogo Initiative Grows
Honda isn’t limiting their dedication to electric energy to consumer vehicles. The new charging network agreements come after the announcement that Honda is expanding its Shogo initiative, another electric-based endeavor. Also called “Project Courage,” the Shogo initiative sees Honda delivering miniature electric vehicles to children’s hospitals nationwide, allowing young patients to traverse the facilities in a fun and safe manner.
Beyond Electric
Honda’s recent commitment to technological advances also stretches beyond the electric landscape. Select 2023 and 2024 Honda models now have access to the Chamberlain Group’s myQ Connected Garage feature, enabling drivers to open, close, and monitor their garage doors through their in-dash display screen. The cloud-based technology requires no new vehicle hardware, allowing the driver to explore the app with no external commitment.
